Parents worried about what their children are watching on television might be pleased to hear about the Cartoon Network's new anti-bullying campaign set to launch in the fall of 2010. CN plans to incorporate what it calls "teachable moments" into its most popular programs, the network announced on May 26, 2010.

Cartoon Network Plans Major Anti-Bullying Campaign

Parents have to give kudos to the Cartoon Network for planning a new strategic attack on bullying. Beginning in the fall, a new campaign will be launched against anti-bullying that is aimed at intervention. The campaign will be aimed at middle-grade school children whom experts have identified as the common age group for when bullying is likely to be initiated, or at its most intense.

The Cartoon Network which operates under Turner Broadcasting System, a TimeWarner company, is working alongside bullying prevention experts and the US Departments of Health and Human Services and Justice and Education. CN will also be joined by CNN who will participate in the campaign by providing editorial features that cover key issues and prevention.
